ROD LATHIM

I was hired by the Santa Barbara Symphony to join with Maestro Nir Kabaretti and composer Cody Westheimer to stage the John Lithgow children’s story The Remarkable Farkle McBride at the Granada Theatre for 3,000 area students in the Symphony’s Concerts for Young People. The humorous story follows the temperamental musical prodigy Farkle McBride who plays instruments in every section of the Symphony and ultimately conducts the full Symphony. Young actors Logan Michaels and Sarah Lee and puppeteer McKenna Riley shined and were a big hit with the audiences as was Cody’s brilliant, original score.
