SOPHISTICATED LADIES
I produced the “Sophisticated Ladies” Concert as a benefit for the Center for Successful Aging at the Marjorie Luke Theatre on March 24th, 2018. The concert featured the brassy, jazzy, nostalgic music of the big band era with Ike Jenkins’ Santa Barbara Big Band. The event also paid tribute the Assistance League of Santa Barbara, celebrating their 70 years of service to the community.
Ike Jenkins is a music legend in the world of jazz music, and although technically retired, he still has a tremendous amount of energy and music oozing from him. Ike has taught, mentored and inspired musicians for decades and is a regular adjudicator at jazz festivals across the USA. His Big Band of professional musicians did not disappoint and the Luke Theatre was alive with the beautiful arrangements of great tunes.
